The Phoenix Backpack includes a spacious main compartment, a zippered pocket on the front panel, 2 interior pockets, and an interior zippered pocket. Choose between a one- or 2-fabric look or a patchwork version to create your own everyday go-to bag!
Finished Size: 12"w x 14"h x 4"d
Skill Level: Confident Beginner. The pattern assumes the quilter can maintain a consistent 1/4" seam allowance and is comfortable trying new techniques needed to sew the backpack.

Fabric:
Lining 1 yard
Binding 5/8 yard
SF101 1 2/3 yards
1.5" webbing 2.5 yards
22" zipper with one or double pulls for top closure
12.5" zipper for front pocket
9" zipper for interior pocket
2 1.5" sliders
2 1.5" rectangle or D-rings
Prior to class/Prep Work:
Cut all fabric for the Exterior, Lining, Accent/Binding, Foam Stabilizer, Fusible Interfacing, and Webbing. (Follow cutting instructions in the pattern).
If making a patchwork version, sew your top together
Quilt your outer fabric, including gussets.
