Folded Star Hot Pad
This potholder is easy and fun to make and there is a limited amount of sewing involved. There is a choice of a round or square option. They make perfect hostess and holiday gifts.
Supplies Needed:
Folded Star Pattern
Fabric Glue
Sewing Machine with Walking Foot (Recommended)
Stiletto, Long Tweezers, or That Purple Thang
Spray Starch or Sizing
Pins or Wonder Clips
Coordinating Cotton Thread
Rotary Cutter and Ruler
Sharp Fabric Scissors
Fabric
Starch before cutting
4 different/coordinating fabrics 1/8” each.
Backing fabric- 10” square
Batting or InsulBright- 9” square
Foundation- Provided with the pattern
Bias Binding- 2”x30” strip
Hanging Loop- Cut 1 strip 2”x 5”
Please have the following fabrics cut and ready to go for the class. This will allow us plenty of time to work and complete the project.
Fabric #1- Center fabric
Cut 4 squares 3 1/2”
Cut 1 square 2”
Fabric #2,3,4
Cut 8 each- 5” squares
